Dr.
Kurtz's work with computer
modeling of hip replacements to look at the
affects of translating the center of rotation on
the range of motion of the hip and biomechanics
of the hip joint has recently been accepted to
the Journal of Arthroplasty and is available
on-line. He
has
also completed enrollment of 100 hip replacement patients in an IRB
approved research
study that is evaluating Dr. Kurtz's ability to
accurately return the leg to the same position
as before surgery. The pre-operative leg
length and offset was compared to the
post-operative leg length and offset.
Study patients are asked to fill out a Harris hip
score questionnaire before surgery and a few
times after surgery. If you would like
