
Dr.
Kurtz is an orthopedic surgeon who
specializes in the field of joint replacement
and revision surgery for the hip, knee, and
shoulder, for which he has received additional
subspecialty training in minimally invasive
techniques, arthroscopy, and computer
navigation. He is a member of Tennessee
Orthopedic Alliance and practices at Baptist
Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr.
Kurtz is a graduate of The University
of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas,
where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors
distinction. He then completed a residency in
orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University
Medical Center, followed by a subspecialty
fellowship in adult reconstructive joint surgery
at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. In
addition, he holds a bachelor's degree in
mechanical engineering from Rice University.
Dr. Kurtz is a member
of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons
and the American Society of Hip and Knee
Surgeons. He currently serves on the board
of the middle Tennessee chapter of the Arthritis Foundation
helping promote arthritis education. He
was involved in scientific research throughout his
graduate medical education.
Dr. Kurtz is a native
of Houston, Texas and is married to Emily Graham
Kurtz, a Tullahoma native and cardiologist at
Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They are
proud parents of a beautiful baby girl. They
have lived in Nashville for 6 years and attend
Westminster Presbyterian Church.
